When Everything Changes, Change Everything
change Fear into Excitement, Worry into Wonder, Expectation into Anticipation, Resistance into Acceptance, Disappointment into Detachment, Enragement into Engagement, Addiction into Preference, Requirement into Contentment, Judgment into Observation, Sadness into Happiness, Thought into Presence, Reaction into Response, and a Time of Turmoil into a Time of Peace.
Change your decision to “go it alone”
when you connect with somebody else, you connect with yourself.
the act of connecting with another pulls you out of your ongoing internal dialogue and into an external one.

Your story does not live in your soul, only in your mind.
your story is not real. It exists only within your mind. It may seem very real to you, but it is not reality.
When really big things change for the worse in our lives we often think it is our fault.
we can’t reach our selves—not our True Selves, not our Best Selves—because our story is blocking the way. We begin thinking we are that story, that this is the truth about us, and that everything else is The Show.
Find someone who does not operate inside your story. Someone who knows you well and does not see you as you think you are, but as you really are. Have a conversation with that person
all change is disruptive, even change for the better.
Sameness is comfort. Even Sameness that’s killing us, even Sameness that’s boring us to tears
I don’t care what you’ve lost or what has so drastically changed, you can start your life all over again, and achieve even greater heights.
Life is change, and when there is nothing that is changing, there is nothing that is living
An event and your reality about that event are not the same thing.
Events, Data, Truths, Thoughts, Emotions, and Experience. If any of these six elements change, your reality will change
you can change your choice of emotions—and thus, change how you’re experiencing change itself.
you can change your emotions about anything.
It is your thoughts that sponsor your fears, and nothing else. Thoughts sponsor all emotions.
YOU MAY NOT BE able to change the fact that things are changing, but you can change your thought about the things that are changing.
event+data+truth+thought+emotion=experience=reality
The three kinds of truth are . . . The Actual Truth The Apparent Truth The Imagined Truth
if peace is that for which you yearn, you will want to journey upward from Imagined Truth to Apparent Truth to Actual Truth, so that you may shift your basis from Distorted Reality to Observed Reality to Ultimate Reality.
The Apparent Truth is based on what you have observed in the past
The Actual Truth is that there is no such thing as fear. In fact, there is no such thing as any emotion, other than one. All the other expressions are repackagings. There is only one emotion, one energy, in the universe: the energy, the emotion, that we call Love. When you know this, everything changes.
fear is a demonstration of Love.
If you did not love yourself, you would not fear for yourself, you would not be afraid of anything, because you would not care what happened to you. You would not even care if you survived. The “survival instinct” is nature’s way of expressing love.
When you deeply understand how your mind works, you will understand how to make it work for you.
The ego is the part of your mind that differentiates “you” from “everything else.”
no matter how dire the circumstance, or how little time you have to deal with it, further action is always possible. There’s always a way out of even the tightest spot. You can survive.”
in any unwelcome and difficult situation where things are changing rapidly, is to stop and think
raise your consciousness from the lowest to the highest level of awareness, no matter what is going on around you.
if what you put into your mind is faulty data (that is, not based in Observed Reality or Ultimate Reality), your mind will come to faulty conclusions
Thought is energy, and your mind’s job is to move that energy into motion (E+motion).
What generates the thought that creates the emotion? Where does the thoughtcome from?
You will know when you’re “done” having an experience. You will know when your period of mourning is over, your time of anger has passed, your veil of tears is ready to be lifted, your fear seeks to subside, your unhappiness feels complete.
There are certain times when it feels good to feel bad. There’s a certain excitement attached to a particular kind of anger.
The Notice the Moment tool awakens the mind and allows it to restart the thought process by inviting the mind to notice that Then is not Now and that Now is not Tomorrow, but that Now is NOW.
There are no straight lines in the universe. They only look straight. All lines ultimately curve in on themselves.
what is ultimately happening as opposed to what we observe to be happening—can so affect your life that you may never have to endure emotional turmoil again. Ever.
every moment will be viewed with love and acceptance
every misstep will be viewed with understanding and compassion
every achievement will be viewed with sweet pride and soft joy and a willingness
life in both its parts has a purpose and a function just the way it is
If you feel terrible, you are standing in a Distorted Reality. If you feel just fine, you are standing in the Observed Reality. If you feel blissful, you are standing in the Ultimate Reality.
I want to acknowledge here that I owe much of what I am now sharing with you to the genius and insight of Dr. Ilchi Lee, a Korean master whose several books on the human brain are highly recommended
